  • Monitoring schedule and sample-site planA written sample siting plan and collection schedule for coliform sampling. 40 CFR 141.853
  • Lab results with chain of custodyMicrobiological results kept at least 5 years, chemical results at least 10 years. 40 CFR 141.33
  • Consumer Confidence Report and proof of deliveryDelivered by July 1 each year, with a copy and a certification to the state. 40 CFR 141.152, 141.155

What's coming

  1. January 1, 2027
    Revised Consumer Confidence Report rules take effect. Systems serving 10,000 or more send reports twice a year. 40 CFR 141.152, 141.155(j)
  2. November 1, 2027
    Lead and Copper Rule Improvements compliance date. The lead action level drops to 0.010 mg/L, and the baseline inventory and a service line replacement plan are due. 40 CFR 141.80, 141.84. The rule is under challenge in court and remains in effect.
  3. April 26, 2029
    Compliance date for the PFAS drinking-water limits as codified. EPA has proposed, not finalized, extending PFOA and PFOS to 2031 for systems that request it and rescinding the other four PFAS limits. 40 CFR 141.61(c)(2)
